Nominations Being Accepted To Fill Vacancies on LAUSD Bargaining Team

Be a Part of Improving Our Contract! Nominations are now being accepted to fill vacant positions on our contract bargaining team. Join the team and ensure that your concerns are represented. The following classifications are vacant.

Unit B
Classroom Aide (1 position)
Non-Classroom Aide (1 position)
Early Education Aide (1 position)
Center Based Special Education (1 position)

Unit B Substitutes
Substitutes (1 position)

Unit C
Maintenance & Operations (2 positions)
Food Services (2 positions)
Miscellaneous Group (1 position)

NOMINATION PROCEDURE:

1. The nominating petition must be signed by 10 members in good standing, from the same bargaining unit/classification, recommending the candidate.  

2. Petitions must be submitted to the SEIU Local 99 main office (2724 W. 8th St. Los Angeles, CA 90005)  by 5 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010.

NOMINEE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a member in good standing.

Must have attended a union activity in the past year.

May be required to turn out members to vote for them at the Industry Division meeting.

If more candidates submit petition than available positions, an election will take place at the Industry Division meeting on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE INDUSTRY DIVISION MEETING ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2010 AT 10AM TO ACCEPT THE POSITION. (Location to be announced.)
