Obama Election Kick-Off!

Huge Turnout Makes Event a Success!

More than 300 members and their families attended the Election 2008 Kick-Off event at the Local 99 office to hear about how we can be involved in this historic campaign to elect a president who is committed to stand with working families.

In addition to hearing from fellow members, meeting with our organizers, and winning prizes, we heard from local and state elected officials who told us in greater detail why Barack Obama is the candidate who will help working families secure health care, protect our freedom to form unions without intimidation, and build an economy that doesn't just favor the rich.

This election season, we need to stand with him to ensure working people have a voice in the White House. Join hundreds of Local 99 members as we ramp up to the November election. We'll be taking the lead to get-out-the-vote in our worksites and communities. We'll be walking voter precincts, working the phone banks, hosting election house parties, even taking weekend trips to battleground states like Nevada to make a change for working families.

We will be a part of this historic election! To learn more about how you can be involved, be sure to attend one of the many Regional Meetings being held across Southern California over the next few weeks.
