What should be the first day of school…is instead the first day that students and staff are locked out because of furloughs.
So we’re going to let politicians know that this is no way to improve education!
We must speak out!

We’re doing our part:
- Taking furloughs,
- Working the jobs of 2 or 3 people,
- Some of us have even been laid off.
We need Big Oil and other giant corporations to do their part:
- Every year, California gives away more than $50 billion (more
than twice our current deficit) in tax breaks to giant corporations and
the rich.
-
California is the only state that does not tax oil companies when they take oil out of the ground.
-
We have the 6th lowest business tax rate in the country.
-
There have been no new taxes proposed on big tobacco and alcohol,
despite the fact that California voters by wide margins prefer these to
cuts in vital services.
Let’s stand up for our jobs, our students, and our communities.
