LAUSD School Board Makes Decision on Operators for 30 Schools

What Does the LAUSD Public School Choice Vote Mean To You?

On Tuesday, February 23, 2010, the LAUSD School Board voted to turn over the operation of 12 existing schools and 18 new schools to various operators, most of which are LAUSD operators. The good news for Local 99 members is that most of these operators will honor our union contract or “contract with LAUSD” for the services we provide.

FSAs are a good way!
Next year, some of us will be spending a little bit more on health care due to increases in our co-pays for doctor visits and prescriptions. To make up for the extra expense, consider the advantages of paying for those expenses with tax-free money you contribute to a health care “Flexible Spending Account” (or “FSA”).
