SEIU Local 99 to Negotiate Over Shortening of School Year at LAUSD

SEIU Local 99 will be negotiating with the Los Angeles Unified School District regarding Superintendent Ramon Cortines’ proposal to shorten the current school year by five days.

We are fighting any additional unpaid days.  Last year, SEIU Local 99 members voted to accept four furlough days this school year (one day per month from February - May, 2010). Our furlough agreement ensures that we do not take a double hit.

Furlough days continue to be scheduled by your supervisor. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
