LAUSD Special Ed Assistants & Trainees Are You Up To Date with CPR & First Aid Requirements?
Special Education Assistants and Trainees at LAUSD must have an updated First Aid Certificate as a condition of employment. Newly hired and newly promoted Special Education Assistants & Trainees must have an updated First Aid and CPR certificate. They have 60 days from date of hire or promotion to comply with this job requirement.

The District has begun reviewing compliance with these requirements. You can be terminated if you do not have an updated certificate.
SEIU Local 99 offers free classes to help you meet this requirement.

CPR and First Aid Class Schedule:April 5 - Saturday
May 13 & 15 - Tuesday & Thursday
June 7 - Saturday
July 8 & 10 - Tuesday & Thursday
August 2 - Saturday
September 9 & 1` - Tuesday & Thursday
October 4 - Saturday
November 4 & 6 - Tuesday & Thursday
December 6 - Saturday
Saturday Classes are from 8am-5pm
Weekday classes are from 5pm - 9pm
You must attend both days of the two-day courses in order to receive certification.
