Assemblymember Warren Furutani Speaks to SEIU Local 99 Members on the California Budget

Warren has 35 years of experience and involvement in education and public service, both as an elected official and a community leader.  As a three-term member of the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees, Warren was elected President of the Board in July 2002 and served as First Vice President in 2001.  He is also the only person to have been elected and reelected to this board and to the Los Angeles Unified School District Board (LAUSD). SEIU members played a crucial role in electing Warren Furutani to the California State Assembly last year.

We spoke to Warren Furutani in his office in Sacramento: about education, what California needs and does not need, and about the revenue that we can raise if we can just tax Big Business fairly. He also spoke about our next steps, and what we can do as SEIU Local 99 members to win more votes in the legislature.
