Just in Time! Look for LAUSD Retroactive Paychecks in July

Thanks to our new union contract, all LAUSD employees who worked last school year should have received a retroactive check (as a direct deposit or in the mail) covering wages from July 1, 2017-July 1, 2018.  Local 99 members will also see the new increased wage rates at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.

Retroactive pay will be delivered through the normal payment option that members have set up with LAUSD. This means that if you have a direct deposit account set up with LAUSD, you will receive your retroactive pay through direct deposit, otherwise your check will be mailed to you.

Please note that wage increases negotiated in our contract took effect on July 1, 2018. However, members working through the summer won’t see the pay increase reflected until their July 23 paycheck, separate from the retroactive pay. There is a small number of employees who still receive monthly (not biweekly) paychecks and those employees will see the new rates, with retro period, about one week later in their July pay stubs issued at the end of the month.

All workers in Units B, C, F and G should have received their retroactive pay. You can find more information about the wage increases we won here.

The following are some of the job classifications covered by SEIU Local 99’s contract that should have received retroactive pay. Sub positions should have also received retro pay:

Unit B Job Classifications: Campus Aides, Counselor Aides, Early Education Center Aides, Education Aides/Resource Aides, Health Care Assistants, Infant Care Aides, Interpreter Aides, Pupil Services & Attendance Aides, Sign Language Interpreters, Instructional Aides for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Special Education Assistants, Special Needs Attendant

Unit C Job Classifications: Building Engineers, Building & Grounds Workers, Bus Drivers, Cafeteria Workers/Helpers/Seniors, Computer Technologists, Food Production Assistants/Workers, Gardeners, Housekeepers, Mechanics, School Facilities Attendants, Stock Clerks/Workers, Tool Keepers, Truck Drivers

Unit F Job Classification: Teacher’s Assistants

Unit G Job Classifications: School Supervision Aides, Community Representatives, Out-of-School Program Workers/Helpers/Supervisors
