California’s child care system is broken, underfunded, and inaccessible. Working parents, including many Local 99 members, struggle to access quality, affordable child care. In fact, over 1 million eligible children in California don’t have access to affordable early education. That’s why we’re fighting to get the respect child care providers deserve and the quality care parents and kids need.
We know California, one of the richest states in the country, can afford to fully fund child care. But, they won’t if we don’t step up and act. Pledge to join our rally demanding California fully fund child care for all working families:
Tuesday, October 2 at 6pm
Los Angeles Trade Tech College – South Tent
Between 23rd and Grand Ave.
Free transportation and parking available.
For more details, RSVP here.
This system hurts working parents and many family child care providers like myself who must struggle on poverty wages and little to no benefits. Many providers are forced to close the doors to their centers, creating a vicious shortage of child care. Providers are also left without the training, resources, and voice they need to ensure high quality care and education for every child. That’s why we’re fighting for the right to bargain a union contract that protects the interests of providers, children, and working parents.
We demand that children get the strong start they need and that providers receive the respect they deserve. Join our fight to make California’s child care system work for everyone. Rally with us Tuesday, October 2 at 6pm at Los Angeles Trade Tech College – South Tent (Between 23rd and Grand Ave). Free transportation and parking available. For more details, RSVP here.
We hope to see you there. Together, we win!
