Join Us For the 35th Annual Kingdom Day Parade Monday, January 20

All members of SEIU Local 99 are invited to join our union’s procession in the 35th Annual Kingdom Day parade in South Los Angeles, on Monday, January 20.

Under the banner “Fighting for His Dream”, we will illustrate how the work we do with children today is continuing on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream for future generations—a dream he spoke of in his 1963 speech during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

Our participation in the parade also highlights how Dr. King saw the fight for civil rights as linked to economic justice, and his belief that through labor unions, we could achieve prosperity for all working Americans.

How to Participate in the Parade

A double-decker bus will depart at 7:30 am from SEIU Local 99’s Downtown LA office at 2724 W. 8th St. Los Angeles, CA 90005. The bus will return to the union office after the parade.

IMPORTANT: Members and their guests should plan on arriving well before the departure time to allow time for parking and boarding.

If you want to view the parade, the procession runs along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd between Western Ave. and Crenshaw Blvd. starting at 10:00 am.
