UPDATE: We have pay dates!  LAUSD has notified our union that they will pay out the $1750.00 recognition pay stipend on May 6, 2022 for workers who are paid semi-monthly and on May 31, 2022 for those who are paid monthly.

Great news! Our SEIU Local 99 bargaining team reached an agreement with LAUSD on February 18, 2021 to increase the stipend paid to SEIU Local 99 members in recognition of their continued service and commitment during the pandemic. All Local 99 members will receive $1,750.00. On March 22, the LAUSD School Board voted to approve the stipend.

This increase is a result of our team moving the district toward more equity for district employees. In June of 2021, our Local 99 bargaining team reached an agreement with the district that included $750 for Local 99 members in recognition for their work during the pandemic. The district later paid out teachers, administrators and other employees a $2500 recognition stipend.

We immediately let the district know that Local 99 members have been on the frontlines throughout the pandemic. We are essential and we demanded equitable pay with other units. Our team stood firm and we moved the district to agree to pay an additional $1750. With the $750 already paid to SEIU Local 99 members, this additional amount will total $2500.
