This month, our SEIU Local 99 bargaining team fought for and won the elimination grievance of the B-Shift positions at Los Angeles Trade and Technical College.

Local 99 won the right to the following terms:    

• The District shall offer current and separated Local 99 unit members who were assigned to the B-Shift at LATTC in Fall 2021 priority transfer or reemployment, elsewhere in the District. 

• Affected Members that were transferred to the A-Shift, accepted a B-Shift assignment at another campus or worksite, or that were forced to resign because of the elimination of the B-Shift, shall have the right to be offered and prioritized to fill a B-Shift assignment at LATTC, if ever restored.

• Affected Members who are interested in a priority transfer or reemployment described above must indicate their location(s) of interest to the District ASAP, and no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the execution of this Agreement. Notification of interest should be communicated to the District’s Director of Employee and Labor Relations.

• The District shall provide B-Shift differential pay amount for the equivalent of sixty (60) workdays, to all affected members at LATTC, retroactively from October 1, 2021.
