The Antelope Valley Runs on Child Care Rally and Picket
Family Child Care Providers across California, particularly in the Antelope Valley, are struggling to keep their doors open due to low pay. SEIU Local 99-Child Care Providers United members are demanding the Governor to bargain in good faith by paying providers the actual cost of running a child care business and ensuring providers have access to essential benefits like paid time off, health care, retirement, and more.
We’re taking our action to the streets! Parents need quality child care in order to get to work and provide for their families. They need services that many providers offer like working with children with special needs, working flexible hours, and working weekends. It’s time providers receive livable wages and stable compensation.
On Wednesday, May 31st, come and join providers, parents, children, and community allies as we rally and picket at the Antelope Valley Mall (Rancho Vista Blvd & 10th St W, Palmdale, CA 93551) between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Guests are welcome!
