Our contract fight at LAUSD is gearing-up. On Tuesday, February 13, SEIU Local 99 members will be speaking at the school board meeting to let the board and Superintendent Carvalho know that we’re demanding livable wages, increased staffing, and more hours. Additionally, Health Care Assistants will be delivering a petition urging the board to increase hours for HCAS and Special Education Assistants will be demanding that LAUSD stop dragging its feet on implementing the 7-hour positions.
SEIU Local 99 members will also be taking action beyond the board room. Members will be “marching on the boss” at their schools and worksites to deliver petitions to principals and administrators urging them to support our fight for clean, safe, and supportive schools for all.
Join the action! Download the petition, print it, and start circulating it at your school/worksite. Review this checklist to plan your “march on the boss” to deliver the petition on February 13. Together, let’s send LAUSD a strong message! The fight for our next contract is on!
