SEIU Local 99 Members Demand More Money from the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD)!

Action Alert: Members are Speaking up at the next LACCD Board meeting for a strong contract!

Members of our SEIU Local 99 bargaining team at LACCD met with the district for a third negotiations session on April 16. The goal for your bargaining team is to reach an agreement on wages for 2023-2024 to get money in your pockets while we continue negotiating for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026. The members of your bargaining team provided a strong counter-proposal to a one year 2023-2024 agreement to the district for wage increases & proposed stronger language on the following Articles:

✅ Article 8 – Hours & Overtime

✅ Article 13 – Vacation

✅ Article 16 – Professional Growth

✅ Article 18 – Special Pay Practices

We continue to demand more money for work boots, more money for tuition reimbursement, more money for career differentials and more money for wages! We also provided improved language revisions for the following articles:

✅ Articles 9 – Leaves & Absences

✅ Article 10 – Transfers & Shift Change

✅ Article 11 – Safety

The district did not respond to any of our proposals. Our next negotiation session is May 3rd.

But we aren’t waiting around, we are going to make some noise at the upcoming LACCD Board meeting on May 1st at 1 PM at the LA Community College District Headquarters:

770 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90017.

SEIU Local 99 member Chris Ozann, Custodian at LA SouthWest College & Bargaining Team member calls on all members at LACCD, “…I encourage you all to speak up for the fair contract we deserve. Because when we fight, we win!”

Negotiations aren’t just won at the table, we need to take united action!
