SEIU Local 99 Members Overwhelmingly Vote ‘Yes’ to ratify tentative agreement with Compton Unified School District (CUSD)

Results are in: Tentative Agreement is ratified ensuring our wins!

SEIU Local 99 members at Compton Unified voted unanimously to ratify our tentative agreement with CUSD for reopener contract negotiations.

Members voted yes to the following victories:

  • A 6% on schedule wage increase retroactive to July 1, 2023.
  • $900 bonus payment for each full-time bargaining unit employee. Part-time employees will receive a prorated one-time off schedule payment based upon their full-time equivalency (FTE). For example, a 0.5 FTE, will receive $450.  
  • Improved medical benefits at every tier. $3K will be provided for a two party and family medical plan. This is HUGE NEWS! For the first time ever, we have zeroed out member contributions for all single party members in this contract cycle.

Members voted online Sunday, May 5th from 8AM – 8PM & in-person Monday, May 6th at Compton Early College High School located at 2601 N Wilmington Ave, Compton, CA 90222 from 10AM – 4PM. 

Now that members voted to ratify, Compton Unified will need to ratify the tentative agreement at the May 14th board meeting.
