SEIU Local 99 members on the Labor  Management Committee (LMC) meet directly with LACCD management to discuss worksite issues. Members elected to serve on the LMC are:

  • Cecilia Kamande, Custodian at West LA College
  • Joseph Ayala, Custodian at Harbor College
  • Alberto Bautista, Custodian at LA Trade Tech
  • Hauson Sanders, Custodian at LA Valley College
  • Elmer Rivera, Custodian at Pierce College
  • Christzann Ozan, Custodian at LA Southwest College
  • Irma Lopez, Custodian at LA Mission College
  • Darian Davis, Custodian at LA City College

During our meeting held on June 28th, 2024, members on the M&O LMC addressed the following issues:

  • Face Recognition Software at Harbor College
    • 🚨Update: The district has confirmed they will proceed with the removal of the face recognition software at Harbor College.
  • Health & Safety
    • 🚨Update: 3-1 Trash can has been removed at all worksites! As workers on campus contested that these trash cans were constantly overrun and attracted rodents. Now they are removed! This is a testament to resolving issues in the Labor Management Committee Meetings.
  • Security Officers at the Worksites
    • The District has responded to members’ safety concerns on campus and the need for security officers. Their response at the latest meeting stated that based on the district’s budget they would need to assess the number of security officers currently at each campus.
  • Emergency Call Box at the Worksites
    • Members have alerted the district that the call boxes at some worksheets are not working. They need to be fixed at ELAC & at Harbor. The district has responded to our concerns that funding is an issue to have them repaired but it is being addressed. For the time being SEIU Local 99 members are encouraged to contact Personnel Commissions regarding the call boxes not working.
  • Harassment at Pierce College
    • The previous issue regarding harassment has been resolved. Members resolved this issue through the Labor Management Committee. Another victory in solving issues before they escalate further.
  • Anticipated Cost Report (ACR)
    • The district has responded that have been made aware of on-going issue occurring at LATTC surrounding Supervisors of SEIU Local 99 members not using the proper chain of Command when members submit their ACR’s. The District stated there will be follow-up on this issue.

The next Labor Management Committee meeting is on Friday, July 26.
