SEIU Local 99 Members at Options Are Taking Action – Here’s Where Things Stand
Here’s a quick update on where things stand.
The employer is still getting in the way of members winning a strong agreement. They continue using anti-union rhetoric and actively delaying instead of respecting workers or addressing the concerns members have raised again and again. Ask yourself: when was the last time you raised an issue and it was actually resolved?
We also know workers are leaving. In just the last six months, we estimate that nearly 50 workers have left Options. If this were truly a great working environment, people would not be leaving. Workers are frustrated, overworked, and tired of being ignored.
As we continue to escalate our contract fight, SEIU Local 99 has filed federal charges with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) over alleged labor law violations. The charge is based on direct dealing with members, which is illegal under federal labor law. This sends a clear message that workers will not be ignored.
But filing charges is only one step. The next step is showing the employer that workers are united and serious about winning respect and a strong agreement.
Join our membership meeting Thursday, March 26th at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom to get the full update and learn how we are continuing to take action together.
