SEIU Local 99 Reaches A Historic Agreement with MAOF
This agreement secures a three-year contract with yearly increases to wages upon ratification.
When SEIU Local 99 began bargaining with MAOF, MAOF management was set on only offering one-off stipends that would vary based on workers’ attendance. We fought hard for more expansive, transparent, and reliable wage increases and won multi-year raises retroactive to July 1, 2025.
This historic wage increase is as follows:
- 3% in Year 1 for state-funded positions.
- 2%—plus a reopener clause to negotiate for further increases in Year 2.
- 2%—plus a reopener clause in Year 3. This could result in a total wage increase exceeding 10% over the three-year period.
- Non-state-funded positions will receive a wage increase no later than September, or as soon as the LACOE budget is approved.
What this means for you:
- If you currently make $20/hr, you will receive an average of 60 cents increase to each dollar with an average $1100 in backpay immediately upon ratification.
- If you currently make $30/hr, you will receive an average of 93 cents increase to each dollar with an average $2000 in backpay immediately upon ratification.
Additionally, we secured longevity benefits for all members:
- 1 extra day of PTO for employees with 5 years of service.
- 2 extra days of PTO for all employees with more than 10 years of service.
