SEIU Local 99 Members of LAUSD Procurement Fight to Ensure Their Jobs Remain Safe & Stable!

LAUSD Procurement Labor Management Committee Report Back – July 15, 2026

SEIU Local 99 members of Procurement are gathering important updates and commitments from management to improve workplace standards. At our recent Labor Management Committee (LMC) meeting, we raised questions about reduction in force, safety, and seniority. Members are stepping up and making sure every unanswered question is clarified for the benefit of all Procurement workers.

📦 Transparency Regarding Warehouse Positions

Members raised concerns about the closing of warehouse positions such as stock workers and forklifts. Management shared that they were unaware of these positions closing, and promised to follow up with an explanation as to why they were closed.

🔌 Maintaining Electrical Safety

Members shared safety issues surrounding burnt outlets near the frozen area, which is currently unsafe for plugging in equipment. The Plant Manager will be repairing them.

🧰 Transfers For Reduction-In-Force Employees

The Committee asked if other members affected by RIF (reduction in force) will be able to transfer to other positions. Management recommended that those members submit an official transfer form to initiate the process, which will be overseen by the Personnel Commission (PC).

🚚 Is the NNC Warehouse Moving?

Management shared that the NNC Warehouse is in the planning phase of moving to a new location, and updates will be provided when available.

📋 Stock Worker Seniority List

Management committed to providing a seniority list for all stock workers within the Procurement Department, so that members are fully aware of their own seniority status.

We’re Stronger Together

These conversations show why our unity matters. When we raise issues collectively, management listens. The LMC is one way we hold LAUSD accountable, but it takes all of us standing together to make real change.
