SEIU Local 99 members showed up united at SMMUSD’s Convocation to gear up for the contract fight ahead. 🟣⚔️
Members received bargaining updates, picked up new hoodies and backpacks and took photos showing that they are standing strong with SEIU Local 99 at SMMUSD!
To continue the momentum as we head back to school, we have a membership meeting Saturday, August 22nd to discuss contract negotiations as well as how to respond to rampant pay errors and tension with management!
The District has only offered a 2% Wage Increase Over 3 Years?Â
We’re fighting for MORE!
When members learned that SMMUSD’s offer at the last bargaining session was only 2% over 3 years, members were outraged. We’re activating members to fight for more:
- đź’°living wages that keep up with the cost of living
- 🏥expanded healthcare access
- đź•’increased hours for part-time workers
- ❌and an end to subcontracting
We’re demanding that SMMUSD return to the bargaining table NOW to negotiate!

Got payroll issues? Stop the paycheck steal!
SMMUSD is blaming a new payroll system for ongoing paycheck errors. Workers have reported that they are not getting paid their full wages due on pay day. When they report it to the district, the missing wages are suddenly available a few days later. This amounts to wage theft and it’s illegal. SEIU Local 99 is preparing to file charges and take legal action on the district. STANDING STRONG WITH SEIU LOCAL 99
