OUR CAMPAIGNS
We care about having good jobs, providing quality education, and building healthy, vibrant communities, and we believe these things all go hand-in-hand. That’s why we lead movements for change at the bargaining table, at our work sites, and at the ballot box.
As education workers and parents, we fight to win contracts that improve our livelihoods and improve the quality education. And as union members, we exercise our collective voice at the ballot box to ensure that the things we care about are prioritized. If an elected official says they’re going to expand funding for public education or pass laws that help working people and students, we make sure they do just that.

OUR CAMPAIGNS
Clean & Safe Schools for All
The crisis created by COVID-19 exposed the vast inequities in our educational system. One of the most urgent divides is in the cleaning and maintenance of our schools. The pandemic has taught us that we need to do more to ensure that all students and staff have access to safe, sanitized and healthy campuses. We need to do more than just reopen with the same old problems: we need to do better.
Child Care for All
Family child care providers give peace-of-mind to working parents by caring for their little ones every day. As educators, they play a vital role in their early development. Through collective bargaining and community action, providers are making gains to stabilize the child care industry, win respect for their work and expand access to quality, affordable care for all working families.
Summer Bridge Fund
In June 2018, Governor Brown signed the 2018-2019 State Budget, which includes $50 million in funding for a summer relief fund for classified employees, matched 1-to-1 by the state. We now have the safety net we need and deserve and we won it through union power. Learn more about the summer relief fund on this page.
