SEIU Local 99 Members at SMMUSD will receive rate increases by the end of July!

The District at Santa Monica-Malibu provided us with an update that SEIU Local 99 members at SMMUSD can expect to see their new rates included by the end of this month’s payroll. After the agreement was ratified by the School Board of Education at SMMUSD on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, we now have a timeline when pay increases go into effect. Our actions moved the district to eliminate all contingencies on wage increases. Members will see a 18% raise that coupled with our previously won 10% increase totaling a significant 28% increase.

SEIU Local 99 Members made our demands loud & clear to the Los Angeles Community College District & to the LACCD Board of Trustees. We took several actions, including members speaking up at board meetings! SEIU Local 99 members at LACCD from all 9 campuses and the District office voted overwhelmingly “YES” to approve tentative agreement for the 2023-2026 contract that includes wage increases, improvements to working conditions, & more!

SEIU Local 99 Members Receive Payout on Grievance Filed with Compton Unified School District (CUSD)!

SEIU Local 99 members at Compton Unified enforced our contract with the District to ensure a 1% Supervising Differential and we won! On July 2nd, 2024, members began receiving their differential payouts. Our win ensures that members currently employed by CUSD will receive $1,400 per year for years of service between the 2017-18 and 2022-23 school years. Members enforced language in the contract that states a required 1% salary difference between supervisors and the employees being supervised. The District shall maintain a minimum differential of one percent (1%).

SEIU Local 99 members enforce contract with Ventura County Community College (VCCCD) to ensure an additional $509 for unit members

SEIU Local 99 members keep the district accountable per section 12.20 that includes, “[if] the District agrees with another bargaining unit to more favorable health and welfare benefits than that negotiated with SEIU herein, the District will grant equivalent benefits to SEIU-represented employees.”
