Every weekday during the 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM timeframe, Edna Logan, a Building & Grounds Worker at Esteban Torres High School in East Los Angeles, is responsible for cleaning approximately 18 classrooms, 12 bathrooms, a staff lounge, and four rehearsal studios for the dance, theatre, and music programs. On Saturday, May 1st, SEIU Local 99, part of the Los Angeles May Day Coalition, will honor the contributions of immigrants, workers, and those who fight to create a more just society for all with a hybrid march/car caravan and rally. The entire event will be live streamed on Facebook! This year’s theme will be “The Work Continues / La Lucha Sigue'' and will focus on lifting up immigrants, worker rights and fighting against anti-asian hate.
