Keara White
Organizer for South LAUSD
Hi SEIU Family! I’m Keara, and I love being an internal organizer. I was first a Special Education Paraprofessional for 26 years, so, like you, I understand the need for change in the fields of child care from LAUSD to CCPU. So in 2022, I decided to be part of the change. I decided to stop complaining about inequalities and low wages, and to do something about it.
I first became an SEIU Local 99 member leader through the Member Leadership Academy. Then, in December of 2022, I resigned from LAUSD and signed on with SEIU Local 99 as an organizer. From there I have been a catalyst of some of the most momentous actions our state has seen. When I’m not organizing, I am a music minister and entertainer locally. I also love baking.
I want to say to all of the members, let’s keep the momentum going. “When we fight, We WIN!!”
