Kelly Marie Rodriguez
Organizer for Northwest LAUSD
I am Kelly Rodriguez. I came from the school district like most of you. I am a mother, a wife, a union sister and most importantly an Advocate. I also have struggles of my own. But that does not define who I am. I am proud to say that I represent, and I am your Internal Organizer for the Northwest San Fernando Valley, and I am very passionate in what I do.
I made my way here to SEIU Local 99 by becoming a part of the Member Leadership Academy. If I had a voice before, the MLA really gave me a LOUDER one! This is where I found my strength and courage to address the elephant in the room: “Mr. Carvalho, we are worth more than the change you throw at us! Respect us!” And this is how our SEIU Local 99 movement in history began!!! And like the chant goes… WHO ARE WE? S-E-I-U LOCAL 99!
