Hi, I’m Margaret, a.k.a. “Ms. M” Williams and I was a member of SEIU Local 99 for many years working as a Sr. Food Service Worker. As a Certified Shop Steward, I was able to support SEIU Local 99 members at the many school sites where I worked. Being a Steward created the opportunity for me to empower other members as well as myself to understand our contract, which educated us on how to fight the bullying and harassment, division, isolation, and other work site issues brought on by the employer. The many challenges I endured while working as a Food Service worker with LAUSD prepared me for this journey.
As we continue to evolve together, let’s keep the momentum going as the powerful member/leaders that we are. I look forward to working with you! When we fight, we win!
