Ulises Leon
Organizer for Options for Learning and new organizing
I am an Internal Organizer with four years organizing SEIU Local 99 Members in the field. Specializing in the So Cal Units (Lynwood, Torrance, and LACCD), I use my experience as a former classified employee of LAUSD to empower our members.
By focusing on empowering members, I have been able to put the experience I’ve garnered as a Special Education Assistant to good use. Over the years at 99, I’ve gained special knowledge that was extremely useful during our historic contract campaign at LAUSD that led to a strike and big gains for members in 2023. I may spend my days at Local 99, but it’s the struggle, the passion, and the possibility of improving the members’ lives that keeps me in the labor fight.
When I’m not organizing, I’m an avid vinyl record collector and love spending time with my family.
